Beijing Daily Messenger - The 12th China Beijing International Cultural and Creative Industry Expo (ICCIE) is held at the China International Exhibition Center (CIEC) on 11th  to 13th September. At the opening day, the Shunyi booth seems to get a strong start. Under the neon light signs of its theme “Creative Shunyi: A Pioneer in Beijing’s Cultural Trade Sector”, the booth demonstrates the rich tapestry of Shunyi’s culture market through 100-odd cultural and creative offerings from 14 local companies—displayed not in traditional cabinets, but at stands for visitors to try out.

Home to the Beijing Tianzhu Airport Economic Zone, Shunyi is well positioned to climb to the upper echelons of Beijing’s cultural trade landscape. Its booth features a robust lineup of competitive local importers and exporters in cultural and creative industries. “All the 14 exhibitors we present here are leading performers in foreign cultural trade, including the Agrilandia Italian Farm, a resort for organic fruit and Italian food, and Benyuan Liujiao, which specializes in micro-clustered water of six molecules per cluster.” According to one organizer of the district’s booth, the focus this year is to provide an engaging and inspiring visitor experience as never before.

Located at the CIEC Hall No.3 (old center), the booth incorporates traditional static billboards, multimedia presentations, and physical product demonstrations within an exhibiting setting of roughly 200 square meters. Instead of the previously used in-window displays, this year all the products are readily available at booth kiosks for visitors to get their hands on. “Compared with traditional window or billboard displays, ‘hands-on experience’ offers visitors much more fun and a deeper knowledge of the products.”

Apart from the themed booth, Shunyi District also offers stages for three ICCIE sideline events: the Inheritance and Innovation of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Forum, which concluded on 9th September; the Seminar on Protecting Design Copyrights and Innovating International Copyright Services, to be held at the Copyright Protection and Exchange Center for Cultural Products of Ethnic Minorities in the Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park on 12th September; and the Release Conference for Highlights of Creative Products in China, to be expected at the National Agricultural Exhibition Center on 16th September.
